How Algae Shield Works

Algae Shield bonds with dissolved nutrients and converts them into insoluble particles that settle to the bottom of the pond. Once bound, these nutrients become biologically unavailable, helping reduce the nutrients that fuel future algae growth.

Application Instructions

1. Mix – In a separate container, mix 4 parts water with 1 part product.
2. Transfer – Pour the mixture into a backpack sprayer, trash pump, or similar applicator.
3. Apply – Spray the slurry evenly across the pond surface. Wind can help with distribution.
4. Clean – Rinse the equipment and return the rinse water to the pond. Store equipment for future use.

Application Tips

• Do not mix directly in the applicator.
• Keep the 4:1 water-to-product ratio. The water should look slightly red/brown, but the mixture should not be too thick or gummy.
• Use a trash pump or continuous agitation to keep the slurry mixed.
• Application may vary depending on the pond and conditions.
