C-10 Temperature Control for De-icers
Using air temperature to control the operation of your De-icer is a low-cost option.
The C-10 employs an air temperature thermostat to activate the de-icer when the temperature falls below a predetermined threshold. One C-10 is in charge of a single 120V de-icer. The C-10 plugs into a regular 120V outlet and has an air temperature control. When the air temperature falls below that threshold, the C-10 activates the De-icer and turns it off when the temperature rises, saving money on expensive power bills.
Savings example: You may avoid the inconvenience and expense of removing your dock and boat from the water for as little as $15 per month by using a 1/2hp, 2400D De-Icer with a C-10 Controller. Specifically designed for use with 120V AC De-Icers.
Important: The C-10 is only designed to run one De-icer. All de-icing installations must be monitored on a daily basis. For safety, any electrical equipment should be plugged into a GFCI-protected outlet or circuit, especially when near water. It is never a good idea to swim with electrical equipment running or even plugged in. Also, once a month, test the GFCI breaker in the circuit to guarantee appropriate operation.
